Quick answer: Over the past several years, AGM has installed custom frameless shower doors, large mirror walls and glass railings throughout Ramsey, NJ. Below is a tour of recent project highlights — what we built, where in town, what glass and hardware we chose, and how to get started on your own project. From our Midland Park showroom on Greenwood Avenue, we're about 13 minutes from Ramsey via Franklin Turnpike.
Ramsey at a Glance for Glass Projects
Ramsey is one of upper Bergen County's most layered towns — a walkable downtown around the 1868 Main Street train station, classic colonials and stately Tudors through the Country Club neighborhood east of Route 17, and a healthy mix of newer custom builds and townhomes near the Route 17 station and the western edge by Mahwah. The housing stock spans from late-1800s farmhouses to brand-new construction, which means almost every Ramsey project involves a different framing and tile situation.
The most common Ramsey glass jobs are frameless shower replacements in renovated master baths (often swapping out a 1990s framed enclosure for clear 3/8" or 1/2" frameless), large custom mirrors in primary suites and dressing rooms, and the occasional interior glass railing on renovated open-stair homes. Our Midland Park showroom is about a 13-minute drive south, which keeps measures fast and follow-up visits painless.
Recent Shower-Door Highlights in Ramsey
Frameless enclosures are our most-requested service in Ramsey. Here are three recent installs that show the range — from a tight Country Club master bath to a newer custom build near Bear Swamp Road. Project locations are described by general area only.
Country Club Master Bath Refresh
A 1956 colonial in the Country Club neighborhood east of Route 17 was getting a master-bath gut renovation. The owners wanted a true frameless enclosure to replace a 1990s framed sliding door. We built a 3/8" clear inline panel with a single inswing door in polished chrome — chrome was the right call here to match the existing plumbing fixtures the family wasn't replacing. The opening was off-square by about 1/4" over the panel height, which is normal for a 70-year-old home, and we templated to compensate.
Newer Custom Build Near the Western Edge
A newer custom home on a quiet street near the western edge of Ramsey had a primary suite with a curbless walk-in shower. We installed 1/2" ultra-clear (low-iron) glass with a fixed return panel and a tall pivot door — about 84" tall — finished in matte black hardware to match the cabinet pulls. The low-iron glass was important here because the homeowners chose a pale, almost-white marble inside the shower; standard glass would have read green against it.
Steam Enclosure Near the Train Station
A 1920s home a short walk from the Main Street station had a primary-bath remodel that included a full steam shower. Steam enclosures need a sealed top panel, transom, and proper drip rail, and the framing detail at the transom is what makes or breaks the install. We built it in 1/2" clear with brushed nickel hardware and a hidden transom seal — the homeowners can run the steam generator without any leaks at the ceiling.

Custom mirrors are our second most-requested category in Ramsey — vanity mirrors, wall-to-wall mirrors in primary suites, and full-wall mirrors in home gyms and basements. Each is cut from a single sheet (or matched multi-panel for very large walls) and finished with polished or beveled edges.
Full Home-Gym Mirror Wall
A finished basement in a colonial near the Country Club called for a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling mirror in the gym corner — about 8' tall by 14' wide. We delivered it as three matched panels with tight butt-joints, polished edges all around, and J-channel support hidden behind a baseboard return. From across the room it reads as one piece. Mirrored gym walls are one of the fastest ways to make a basement feel finished.
Beveled Vanity Mirror, Older Home Near Main Street
A 1908 home a few blocks from Main Street had a vanity tucked under a sloped second-floor ceiling. The owners wanted a generous mirror but the slope cut into the wall about 18" above the vanity. We cut the mirror to follow the slope with a clean polished edge and a 1" bevel around the rest of the perimeter — feels like it was always supposed to be that shape.

Other Glass Work in Ramsey
One recent Ramsey project worth mentioning: a back-painted glass kitchen backsplash in a renovated Country Club colonial — warm white, 3/8" tempered, full-height behind the range. Back-painted glass is one of the cleanest backsplash options because there are no grout lines to keep clean. We've also handled a handful of glass tabletops for Ramsey dining rooms and the occasional shelf set in built-in bars. If you're considering glass for a deck or stairway, our glass railings page covers code, cost and design details.
Why Ramsey Homeowners Choose AGM
Three reasons most Ramsey projects end up with us: proximity (our Midland Park showroom is about 13 minutes away via Franklin Turnpike), 40+ years of local installations (we've worked in homes from the 1880s through brand-new construction across upper Bergen County), and in-house fabrication (we cut and finish glass in our own shop, install with our own crew, and never subcontract). Free in-home measures are standard for every Ramsey project, with no obligation. Most quotes are returned within one business day of the measure.
