Quick answer: Over forty-plus years installing custom glass in Edgewater, our crew has built case-study experience across the town's most common housing types. This post tours recent Edgewater highlights — shower enclosures, custom mirrors, glass railings and other glass work — with a sense of what we see here and what to expect when you reach out. For broader town details, see the Edgewater service-area page.
At a glance
Edgewater is a different kind of project town than anywhere else in our service area. The housing is dominated by mid-rise and high-rise condos along the waterfront — communities like The Peninsula at City Place, the Mariner's Cove buildings, the high-rises along River Road — plus modern townhomes built into the slope behind them. Frameless glass is the default here because owners paid for a Manhattan-skyline view and they don't want to block it. The work is straightforward in design but logistically demanding: every condo install requires a building Certificate of Insurance, coordination with concierge for service elevator access, time windows that work around quiet hours, and a crew that can move panels through tight service corridors without scratching the building's finishes. We've been doing it long enough that the buildings themselves know us by name.
Shower-door highlights
Frameless shower enclosures are our highest-volume category in Edgewater. Three recent residential installs that show the range:
Frameless steam enclosure in a high-rise primary on River Road
A higher-floor unit in a River Road high-rise wanted a steam-rated enclosure that wouldn't visually interrupt the east-facing window line. We fabricated a 3/8" tempered sealed steam package with an operable transom, polished-chrome hardware, and a custom shape that hugged the bulkhead above. The building required two days of coordinated freight-elevator slots; install was completed inside one weekend without disrupting neighbors.
Bypass slider in a Mariner's Cove tub bath
A guest bath in a Mariner's Cove condo had a 60" tub-shower combo with no room for any swinging door. We installed a frameless sliding bypass on a slim polished-chrome top track, 3/8" low-iron glass on both panels. Bypass sliders in condo bathrooms are one of our most-requested configurations in Edgewater.
Frameless walk-in in a Peninsula townhome
A waterfront townhome at The Peninsula renovated its primary bath into a true walk-in shower with a curbless tile pan. We installed a single fixed wall panel and a 30" pivot door, both 3/8" low-iron with hydrophobic coating. The building's COI requirements were extensive; our office handled the paperwork before the measure.

Custom mirrors — vanity, full-wall, entry-hall, home-gym — are the second-most-common project we install in Edgewater. A few recent examples:
- A wall of custom mirror behind a primary-bath vanity in a higher-floor City Place unit — a single 8-foot-wide panel anchored flush, polished edges, no frame.
- A pair of identical pivoting round mirrors above double-sink vanities in a townhome off Old River Road — brushed-brass pivot hardware.
Other glass work
Beyond showers and mirrors, Edgewater keeps us busy with railings, backsplashes, tabletops and accent work:
- A frameless interior glass railing along a townhome stair off Veteran's Field Drive — 1/2" tempered panels, top-mounted on the existing wood handrail with stainless standoffs.
- A small back-painted glass accent panel in a kitchen renovation off The Promenade — color-matched to the cabinetry, full-wall panel behind the cooktop.
Why Edgewater chooses AGM
Edgewater sits about 18 minutes from our Lodi showroom via Route 46 and River Road. The drive isn't the hard part — the building logistics are. Forty-plus years of working in managed buildings up and down the Hudson means our office can pull together a COI in a day, our crew knows how to wrap a service elevator without leaving a mark, and we've already templated inside most of the major waterfront communities at one point or another. View-conscious frameless glass is what we're known for here.
