Quick answer: This post walks through recent hillside homes, older capes, and Ramapo-area baths we've installed in Wanaque over the past year. Every project below is one our own crew templated, fabricated and installed from our Midland Park showroom about 20 minutes away — no subcontractors, no handoffs. For pricing or general services, our Wanaque service-area page is the right starting point.
At a glance — Wanaque glass work
Wanaque tucks up into the Ramapo Mountains around the reservoir; the housing stock skews older and the lots tend to be irregular, with stepped foundations and tight original bath footprints.

- Nearest showroom: Midland Park — about 20 minutes from Wanaque

Shower-door highlights
Shower enclosures are far and away the most common project in Wanaque. The older housing stock — capes, bungalows and splits up around the reservoir and the Stonetown section — almost always means a tight original bath footprint and at least one wall that isn't perfectly square. Templating, not measuring, is what makes the difference.
Frameless inline door in a 1950s Haskell cape
A primary bath in a 1950s cape off Ringwood Avenue in the Haskell section had a framed slider from the early '90s that had finally given up at the bottom track. We templated the 36-inch opening against a wall out about a half-inch top to bottom — typical for a house this age — and installed a 3/8″ clear frameless inline door with brushed-nickel hinges and a 6-inch ladder pull. Two-week turnaround.
Steam-rated enclosure in a Ramapo Mountain Estates new build
A newer-construction home up in the Ramapo Mountain Estates section needed a steam-rated primary enclosure sealed all the way to a 9-foot ceiling. We installed a 60-inch L-return enclosure in 3/8″ low-iron glass with an operable transom for venting, upgraded gaskets at every joint, and matte-black hinges and pull. The steam generator was already roughed in by the GC; we coordinated the final seal-up after the tile was set. Three-week fabrication on this one because of the transom hardware lead time.
Sliding bypass in a tight hall bath off Lake Drive
A second-floor hall bath in a colonial off Lake Drive had a 60-inch tub-shower combo and no way to fit a swinging door past the vanity. We installed a frameless bypass sliding enclosure in 3/8″ clear glass on a slim top track in polished chrome. The sliding solution is a Wanaque staple — tight tub-shower openings are everywhere in this housing stock.

Mirror work in Wanaque is mostly vanity-scale, but the larger Stonetown and Ramapo Mountain homes drive a steady share of bigger statement pieces.
Two matching vanity mirrors over a double sink
A primary bath remodel near the reservoir wanted two matching 30″ by 36″ polished-edge mirrors above a double-sink vanity, anchored a few inches above the new wall sconces. We delivered both mirrors the morning of install and set them in under an hour. Cleanup is the easiest part of mirror work — drop cloths come up, the room is done.
Foyer statement mirror with bevel
A center-hall foyer in a larger Wanaque home wanted a single 40″ by 60″ mirror with a 1-inch polished bevel, hung over a console table on the back wall. The bevel reads as a thin shadow line in the right light, which is the whole point. Anchored with French cleats into studs we located with a magnet — never trust drywall anchors on a mirror this size.
Other glass work
Beyond showers and mirrors, the work in Wanaque skews toward small custom pieces — replacement tabletops, an occasional fireplace surround, and tempered patio-table replacements for storm damage.
Glass tabletop replacement
A dining-table glass top in a Stonetown home had cracked along an edge. We measured the existing wood base, cut a new 3/8″ tempered top with polished edges and a small bevel, and delivered it the following week.
Painted-glass fireplace surround
A primary-suite sitting area near the reservoir wanted a clean charcoal fireplace surround without the weight or cost of stone. Two panels of back-painted glass in deep charcoal, polished edges, hidden mechanical fasteners. Reads as black marble at a fraction of the price.
Why Wanaque chooses AGM
Forty-plus years of doing this from our two showrooms means we've already templated, fabricated and installed in nearly every Wanaque block. The Midland Park showroom is 20 minutes from your house — close enough that your measure is usually scheduled the same week you call. A few specific reasons we hear from Wanaque customers:
- Templating, not measuring. Older Wanaque homes have walls that aren't perfectly square. We template the exact opening on site after the tile is set, so the glass fits the wall as it actually is.
- One crew, start to finish. The person who templates your bath is the same shop that cuts the glass and the same crew that installs it. No subcontractors, no handoffs.
- Hydrophobic coating done right. Hard-water NJ etches uncoated glass within one to three years. Our factory-applied hydrophobic coating is multi-year, not the weeks-long retail spray.
Start your project
Two to three weeks from approved quote to glass on the wall is the standard timeline: a free in-home measure within days of your first call, one to two weeks of fabrication, then a single-visit install. Mention Wanaque when you reach out and we'll route it to the right showroom.
