Recent glass projects in Bloomingdale, NJ

A short tour of recent custom-glass installs in Bloomingdale — shower enclosures, mirrors, railings, painted glass and commercial work — drawn from the past year of our local calendar.

Quick answer: This post walks through recent downtown cottage remodels, lake-area baths, and a few stand-out mirror jobs we've installed in Bloomingdale over the past year. Every project below is one our own crew templated, fabricated and installed from our Midland Park showroom about 22 minutes away — no subcontractors, no handoffs. For pricing or general services, our Bloomingdale service-area page is the right starting point.

At a glance — Bloomingdale glass work

Bloomingdale sits at the foothills of the Ramapos, with a downtown core of older homes and a lot of cottage-scale primary baths that get gut-remodeled into modern walk-ins.

Shower-door highlights

Shower work in Bloomingdale runs the full range — older Main Street capes with tight tubs, lakeside cottages near Glenwild Lake, and a meaningful share of newer construction on the wooded backstreets. Tight original openings are the rule, not the exception.

Frameless inline door in a Main Street cape

A 1940s cape in the older blocks off Main Street had a tub the family had converted to a walk-in shower years earlier and a framed slider that had finally pitted at the corners. We templated the 36-inch opening — the wall was out 3/8 of an inch — and installed a 3/8″ clear frameless inline door with polished-chrome hinges. The new door swings cleanly in an opening that had visibly fought the original hardware.

Frameless bypass slider in a Glenwild Lake cottage

A summer-cottage primary near Glenwild Lake wanted a frameless bypass slider for a tub-shower combo where a swinging door would clip the vanity. 3/8″ clear glass on a slim top track in brushed nickel. The bypass is the right answer for any cottage-scale bath where you can't sacrifice the inches a swinging door eats.

Steam-ready frameless in a wooded-backstreet new build

A newer custom build off Macopin Road wanted a steam-ready primary enclosure sealed to a 9-foot ceiling. We installed the package in 1/2″ low-iron glass, matte-black hinges, and a custom 24-inch pull. Three-week fab; the install ran a single full day on site after the tile crew finished.

Mirror highlights

Mirror work in Bloomingdale is mostly vanity-scale, with the occasional larger entry or hallway piece in the bigger Main Street homes.

Single polished-edge primary vanity mirror

A primary bath in a center-hall colonial near downtown ran a 60-inch by 36-inch polished-edge mirror over the full vanity, anchored above a pair of wall sconces. Continuous, no frame, no bevel — exactly the kind of subtle upgrade that lifts a remodel from good to finished.

Beveled entryway mirror in an older Main Street colonial

An older colonial off Main wanted a single 30″ by 42″ mirror with a 1-inch bevel over a console in the entry. The bevel catches light from the front door and adds a soft frame without any actual frame. Anchored with French cleats into studs.

Other glass work

Beyond showers and mirrors, the work in Bloomingdale is mostly small but useful — tabletops, backsplashes, and the occasional patio-table replacement.

Painted-glass fireplace surround

A 1960s ranch off Hamburg Turnpike wanted a clean deep-charcoal fireplace surround to replace tired brick. Two panels of back-painted glass, polished edges, hidden fasteners. The look reads as black marble at a fraction of the cost.

Glass tabletop, custom-cut

A dining table in a lakeside cottage needed a replacement 3/8″ tempered top with polished edges and small radius corners. We templated the existing wood base, cut the panel and delivered it the following week.

Why Bloomingdale chooses AGM

Forty-plus years of doing this from our two showrooms means we've already templated, fabricated and installed in nearly every Bloomingdale block. The Midland Park showroom is 22 minutes from your house — close enough that your measure is usually scheduled the same week you call. A few specific reasons we hear from Bloomingdale customers:

  • Templating, not measuring. Older Bloomingdale homes have walls that aren't perfectly square. We template the exact opening on site after the tile is set, so the glass fits the wall as it actually is.
  • One crew, start to finish. The person who templates your bath is the same shop that cuts the glass and the same crew that installs it. No subcontractors, no handoffs.
  • Hydrophobic coating done right. Hard-water NJ etches uncoated glass within one to three years. Our factory-applied hydrophobic coating is multi-year, not the weeks-long retail spray.

Start your project

Two to three weeks from approved quote to glass on the wall is the standard timeline: a free in-home measure within days of your first call, one to two weeks of fabrication, then a single-visit install. Mention Bloomingdale when you reach out and we'll route it to the right showroom.
